Beem Credit Union Awards Bursaries

Kelowna, BC – Beem Credit Union has awarded $456,000 in bursaries to students across British Columbia through its Million Dollar Bursary Program. The emails are now going out to 456 students across the province letting them know they’ve qualified for a $1,000 bursary.
Now in its 11th year, the Million Dollar Bursary has awarded more than $5 million to over 5,000 students since it launched in 2014. “It’s one of the ways we show our commitment to education, financial literacy, and helping our members build strong, confident futures,” said Beem CEO Brian Harris. “Education is more than books and classrooms. It’s about supporting people on every journey. This program is about showing young people we believe in them,” said Beem CEO Brian Harris. “Whether they’re starting post-secondary or learning to manage their finances, we’re here to support them.”
This year marks the first time the bursary was extended to BlueShore Financial members. BlueShore Financial and Beem Credit Union officially merged on January 1, 2025, forming one of the province’s largest provincially regulated credit unions. Over 50 students from BlueShore are receiving awards in 2025.
The bursary is open to Beem members aged 17 to 24, with a simple application process—no essays, financial need, or academic requirements. Students can sign up now to be notified when applications reopen in September.
