Ian is responsible for the operations and performance of the BlueShore Financial Division of Beem, ensuring a smooth integration process with Beem Credit Union over the next 18 months. He is also the interim leader of the Relationship team, which cultivates strong organizational relationships across the credit union system, ensures the credit union’s voice is represented in relevant provincial and federal policy decisions, and leads the development and effective operation of our provincial governance model.

Ian is a values-driven and people-centric executive with a proven track record of delivering solid financial results, setting strategic direction, developing empowered teams, and providing a differentiated client experience. With more than two decades of leadership experience, Ian has deep expertise in strategy development, risk management, retail and business banking, wealth management, and commercial lending.

A champion of the Canadian credit union system, Ian serves on the Board of the Credit Union Central of Canada (CUCC). Recently, he was President & CEO of BlueShore Financial Credit Union in BC and, previously, CEO of Kindred Credit Union in Ontario. Before that, he held several executive roles at Coast Capital Savings, including Chief Risk Officer, Vice-President of Retail and Wealth, and Chief Member Experience Officer. Ian also brings extensive risk advisory experience from his tenure at Deloitte.

Ian holds an MBA (Honours) from the University of Calgary and a BA in Communications and Business from Simon Fraser University. Additionally, he has earned an Institute of Corporate Directors Designation (ICD.D) and a Diploma of Strategy and Innovation from MIT.
